The Butetown Community Centre is run by a voluntary committee of dedicated people from the local community. Our aim is that the centre will enhance the quality of life for local people by providing educational, recreational, health, well-being and leisure opportunities. A place where people can meet, learn and socialize in a safe and friendly environment.

We provide a wide variety of resources and services for the whole community regardless of sex, age, religion or race, the Association is non-political, non-sectarian and non-discriminatory on any social grounds.

Services include a Luncheon Club, Community Food Co-op, Fitness Classes, Senior Citizens Club, Active Minds Club, Butetown Domino Club, Adult Education Classes, Computer Classes, Cookery Class, Childrens African Drumming Class & Advice Drop In Sessions.

The new Butetown Community Centre due for completion late summer 2012 will be a 3 storey building comprising 2 hall spaces, kitchens, bar area, meeting rooms, 5 business units, a crèche, a day centre, a café area and a computer room. Public art will also be incorporated into the building. The project is being funded under the Butetown Priority 4 programme and the total cost is £2.1 million. The building will continue to be managed and run by the Butetown Community Association.
