Team Willow, established in 2001, is a residence on Willow Street that is best known for specialising in contests, newsletters, events, slander, exploits, "art" projects, enthusiasm and awesomeness. Some famous Team Willow events include colouring contests, 2004's first annual Halifax Soda Pops Explosion, and the long-running 6015 Explosion! newsletter. In 2005, members Paul and Francesca opened Gallery Deluxe Gallery, a non-for-profit alternative gallery space in the attic. Local, national and international artists have shown at GDG and both the gallery and Team Willow have been featured on CBC television, radio and in numerous print publications.
