Covering an area of 1 000 ha, the Buffelspruit Nature Reserve is situated along the Kraai River in Aliwal North. It is owned and managed by the Maletswai Local Municipality and is open throughout the year. Animals frequently seen are Blesbuck, Black wildebeest, Zebra, Gemsbok (Oryx gazella), Springbok and ostriches.
