Lovely Professional University (LPU), Jalandhar is a private semi-residential university created under state government private university act. LPU is the largest private university in India in terms of potential student intake, and is situated on 800+ acres of green area on NH-1 at the entry of Jalandhar city. The university currently has 35,000 students from 29 states and 8 countries and over 150 programs.[1][2] It is recognized by UGC under Section 2(f) of UGC Act 1956. It is a residential university with separate hostels for both boys and girls housing more than 10,000 residents. It is branded for promotion as a "global university with boasting distinctive strengths in education and entrepreneurship", and imparts education through more than 150 Diploma, Graduate, Post Graduate and Doctorate programmes it offers in various disciplines like Management, Engineering Hotel Management, Computer Application, Architecture, Design, Commerce, Fashion Technology, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Paramedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Education, Physical Education, Films, Animation, Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Sciences, Arts & Languages etc.

Lovely Professional University has recently tied with various International Universities for twinning programs and International Exposure Programs. Also strict discipline is maintained on campus: students are not allowed to leave without written permission from parents, and wear a very fashionable and elegant uniform on all weekdays. AC and non-AC facilities with different fees are available in hostels depending on student need.

  • this is lovely institutes.... a pvt. institutes started by some shit heads... the owner of jalandhar famous LOVELY SWEETS. they want to make it a brand name & want to make it famous.... but its useless, as there is no space for broad minded people & those who want to break free.... So as to become a dictator, lovely has managed to make themselves as LOVELY PROFESSIONAL UNIVERSITY. they just suck money from students & never give the value for money. its my bet, that it will never bring up students like those of IIT, IIM, PRINCETON UNIVERSITY & others, b'coz there, students r let 2 open their mind, whereas here, lovely only stresses upon academics ( the usual indian story). I hope the shit heads r reading this......!!!!!!!!!! I stay with my words that those students who want to become a part of mr A.P.J Abdul Kalam's vision-2020, never never never take admission in this institute. NEVER. & u'll b asking who i am.......... I'M A FORMER STUDENT OF THIS INSTITUTE.

  • hey sidharth i hope u read it i m Rihan Ahmad Gauri a student of lovely professional university MBA 2007-09 and i found this university a place to recognise. a place of discipline, a place where values exist,where student's carrier take a new shape,where the relationship of teachers and student is like of children and parents,every facility for the students is available to polish there skills. it is not only a university but a lovely planet where values, beliefs, emotions, ethics,attitudes, come into existence. this is a place which is building the future of India. every year 15000 students take there professional degrees from here and go into the market like a storm. like a typhoon of young professionals of India which is going to rule the whole world in each area be it scince, management, arts, computers etc. so mr. sidharth don't abuse this temple of education, and its priests. the students of negative thinking like you can not do anything even if they are in oxford univeristy. jis thali me khaya hai us mai to ched mat kro sidharth.

  • today a exam was conducted for M.sc Bio tech students. the class room was in basement. there was a power failure and there was no power backup. students waited for the power to resume but the time lapsed...and student were unable to conduct the full exam.

  • Mr Lucky Dhillon & Mr. Rizwan, its nice to see u people coming up & putting fwd their views here. i never expected people replying my comment. Lets start bout LPU. nice to see & hear its a university now. But students who have ben a part of this campus before it was granted univ. status or the time when lovely had just 3-4 buildings under it, they know its original story. Well, i do agree with the fact that education quality is very good as compared to other institutes in punjab. But the factor which i was stressing upon was LPU guys see vision only in academics & those who are "YES SIR" types. I have been seeing this for years. As a matter of fact, i was the 2nd batch of lovely institutes. i have seen it transform into a 1 block college to multi disciplinary institute. But none of u saw LPU's nature of getting out may without putting resources in. Education there is ery good, i agree. But the long term vision which a student can get, it is missing there. Punjab still has a culture of going abroad, & LPU is still notshowing the true picture of the world & industry to its students. Anyone who wants to go for just academics, GO. But who has a vision, & i mean a vision of APJ Abdul Kalam, try to go for education at metropolitan cities. Thank You.

  • dear friends i am a four year old student in lovely,no doubt its having very tough decipilne and acadmic rules. but dear do you know why you r studing here? because you r not even eligible for any university or collage then you came to lovely and this university gave you a golden chance to prove yourself. and more over if you can't improve your self then please don't comment upon anybody else. just utilize the fee you have paid here. give 200% in your studies and then you will be at top. then after you will fell that IIT,IIM are the brands but the real thing is in the febrics and the artist who converts that one in to cloath. so please if you can't praise don't say bad. one thing more. do you ever listen any university within 2-3 years becomes notified by the govt./any official . every university is affilited to some board and ..... and they having funds from the board then after they run. but lovely is to you,from you yaar com'n cheer up i have a lots of wonderfull memories which is introduced by the lovilions. some grief but you know.... every success come with pain,but if you succeed that pain will be enjoyable... so don't give up winners never quit and quitters never wins... all the best...

  • 1. Kalam is highly qualified from univs as good as IITs.... 2. Its career dude! not carrier...after all its yours' Huh! 3. IIT students so much time on extracurrics.... LPU students don't do anything. 4. Yeah girls are hot.... but also dumb. 5. It is good enough univ for those who don't have any other univ to go. 6. 15k students pass-out every year!!! Wrong Info.

  • it is one of the best varisities in india and it has got very much bright future.but only the things that make lpu backwark is its faculty and its mess food that is rarely dirty,,offfffffffffffffffffff>><<<<<???????////\\\\][[[]]........ leaving these things in lpu a student can do that what he/she can't do in other varisities including NIT's and IIT's also..it is rarely true,if u don't believe join ur wards in LPU,,,,,99% good results u will get.

  • No-doubt its a good emerging university... but the faculty is not so good they think that lpu has got best faculty, they r not after teaching, their intentions r only how to complete sylb.... they dont care about the career of student they are just after money thts y they hav provided free entry inthe univ without any entrance xam of univ... i prefer u people who r willing to come hea z just go through other univ first n then take lpu.... they provide the IIT standard papers for the students here.... LPU IS JUST A NAME my dear fellas.... it was my duty to tell the world rest is upto uh.... am trapped hea now... my biggest mistake in life to take lpu as my univ....:(

  • I am a current student. I too had bad feelings about LPU but after living few days, I must its one of the best institution of India... Only some shit heads who could only bark & do nothing may call it waste but if u are talented enough, you will get more then enough chances to prove yourself... Its not perfect, but can you give me the name of any perfect college??? yes its really not perfect, but its best...

  • LPU sucks..Think twice before taking admission in this university..Don't go by its advertisements, its all fake..Its logo is Transforming Education transforming India but in real it is not able to transform chehru(the local place outside campus)..Faculty sucks,they come with laptop,dictate through ppt and go back without creating any curiosity to learn...They never understand the problems of students..total injustice is done to them..Infact, its name should be Load and Pressure University..

  • well this university is far more than it is seen in advertisement i looked for adm. through aieee but didn't succeeded hence i tried my hands on this university i was asked for a neat:national engineering aptitude test for 20,000 scholarship per semester the test was very easy to pass and i got scholarship .when i entered university i found faculty was laggy and could not create interst to study this is bad as even thouigh i will try my self to study i can do nothing if i do not know anything.on the other hand getting scholarship is far mor easier than losing it u do this and there goes ur scholarship .the department is also not very informative.so please any newcomer dogain every possible knowledge about here before enetering this institute.

  • I am also a former student of LPU and all this above said is a complete wrong comment. I love the university. The study culture and the diversity is world class and as far as money is considered, if you are able and good in studies , then you will get Scholarship.I love LPU.
  • Sure, they don't consider about aieee marks. Just have 50%marks in qualifying examination and write Lpunest. If you qualify in Lpunest , you will definitely get the seat in Lpu
