The Baltimore Museum of Art’s outstanding collection encompasses 90,000 works of art--including the largest holding of works by Henri Matisse in the world, as well as masterpieces by Pablo Picasso, Paul Cézanne, and Vincent van Gogh.

The permanent collection ranges from contemporary to renaissance works, and includes one of the most important African collections in the country. Traveling exhibitions come to the BMA with great frequency. The permanent collection and smaller temporary displays are free to visit and enjoy.

The Museum is closed Mondays and Tuesdays, and its hours are as follows:
Wednesday–Friday 11am–5pm
Saturday–Sunday 11am–6pm

A restaurant is located within the museum. Getrude's is an upscale restaurant owned by renowned chef John Shields and features the cuisine of the Chesapeake Bay.

The Museum also has outdoor sculpture gardens on the property.
