The station opened on Nov. 15, 1955

Ground Station Pavilion is made by architects, MK Benua, AI Kubasov and FF Oleinik, and engineer, SM Epstein. Pavilion attached directly to the eastern side wings of the building, facing the Baltic station 6-portico-loggia to the forecourt. Around the dome of the hall is circular escalator corridor, which communicates with the station premises ventlyukami (access to the corridor is carried from the second floor). Between the columns of the portico ground pavilion in an alcove behind a colonnade above the door are five bas-reliefs of prominent Russian admirals, naval: FF Ushakov (sculptor V. Isayeva), MP Lazarev (sculptor AA Strekavin), VA Kornilov (sculptor AN Chernitsky), PS Nakhimov (sculptor RK Taurit) and SO Makarov (sculptor AG Ovsyannikov).

Plans to build a second pavilion to the right of the station.
