Unique feature of the Darndale estate noted for its ample fishing despite a relatively small size. As of 2011, an invasion of "curly weed" (Lagarosiphon major) has unfortunately began to "choke" the delicate pond of its water. For the intrigued angler, Darndale pond boasts unusually high numbers of carp, tench, roach, and also some perch. It is recommended to wear a helmet while fishing there due to the relative danger imposed by both the Darndale residents and the nearby Traveller encampment.
