Aldridge is a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall, in the West Midlands, England. Historically it was part of the county of Staffordshire, but in 1974 it was incorporated into the Walsall borough as well as the metropolitan county of the West Midlands. Aldridge became an urban district in Staffordshire in 1894. Other villages within the district included Pelsall, Walsall Wood, Clayhanger and Streetly. This merged with Brownhills in 1966 to form Aldridge-Brownhills district council, and then became part of the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall in 1974.

Today, Aldridge is a relatively affluent area of Walsall that consists of mostly private homes that have been built since the 1920s. It is a pleasant suburban area contrasting with the more centralised rundown parts of Walsall such as Moxley, Darlaston, Leamore, Blakenall Heath, Harden and Goscote. Conservation area protects the old centre of this former mining community on the fringe of Birmingham northern green belt.

The people of Aldridge are represented on Walsall MBC via councillors elected from both the Aldridge North & Walsall Wood ward and the Aldridge South & Central ward (see outline map above). Local neighbourhoods in this district include : Shire Oak, Walsall Wood, Holly Bank, Vigo, Leighswood, and Pool Green.
