Subject of a well publicized lawsuit when Geffen refused to allow people to use a public access point that he had contractually agreed to in exchange for a zoning varience on his large property (the beaches in California are public property and there had been a public access point added to prevent the public beach from being effectively walled off by private homes). After a lengthy court battle Geffen lost the fight in 2005, accessing the beach. Dave still didn't give up completely. He installed a battery of TV cameras which keep members of the public under constant surveillance.
