Warren D. Allen Music Library
The Music Library is located here. It has two levels, and is located in the west wing of the Housewright Building. The main entrance is in Housewright's basement.
It first opened in 1900. It moved to Kuersteiner when it opened in 1949. By 1969, it had outgrown the area in Kuersteiner, and was moved into the basement of the Longmire Alumni Building. In 1979, it moved here into the then-newly constructed Housewright Building.
The library is named for Warren D. Allen, a celebrated organist and music critic and a professor of music history and literature at the School of Music from 1949 to 1956.
