Estate home designed c. 1917 in the Federal style by Walker & Gillette for James Norman Hill {capitalist, financier}. Hill served as vice president of Minnesota & International Railroad, director of Northern Pacific Railroad, Erie Railroad, Northern Express Co., United Securities Corp. of St. Paul, and Northern Securities Co. He also served as trustee of New York Trust Co. and Great Northern Iron Ore.

The 30 room, 16 bathroom estate also included landscaping by Olmsted in 1916, a pool house, green houses, garage, gate house and groundskeepers cottage. The estate was purchased in 1959 by the Association for the Help of Retarded Children (AHRC Nassau) where it is adaptively reused as their headquarters building.
