Tychy (pronounce: ['tɨxɨ] (help·info), German: Tichau) is a city in southern Poland with a population of 132,600. It is situated in the Silesian Voivodeship (since 1999); previously, it was in Katowice Voivodeship (1975-1998). Tychy is an important center of beer production (Tyskie beer) and automotive industry (Fiat factory, specializing in city cars; formerly known as FSM, Fabryka Samochodów Małolitrażowych).
