The Tazimina River hydroelectric plant is a "run-of-river" power generation system, which uses the power of the existing Tazimina Falls, without a dam and reservoir.

The plant generates electricity for the communities of Iliamna, Newhalen, and Nondalton, with a capacity of 824 kilowatts (kW), expandable to 1.5 megawatts (MW).
