50-trillion-cubic feet gas reservoir discovered in Caspian Sea.
The Sardar-e Jangal gas field is an Iranian natural gas & Oil field that was discovered in 2012. Located in 700m water depth it began production in 2012 and produces natural gas & Oil and condensates. The total proven reserves of the Sardar-e Jangal gas & Oil field, as specified by the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum, are around 50 trillion cubic feet (1,430×109m3), however, estimates from the operator later placed reserves at 5 trillion cubic feet, and production is slated to be around 2.45 billion cubic feet/day (70×106m3).
Amir Kabir semi-submersible rig
Studies on the construction of the gas field, from the beginning of 2001, resulting in 46 large and small structure in the Caspian Sea were detected. Structures have been identified at depths of 500 to 800 meters, exploration drilling was required.

Construction projects Amir Kabir semi-submersible rig, vessel 16 thousand hp and Kaspynhay 1, 2 and 3 Introduction doing exploratory drilling.

Amir Kabir semi-submersible rig weighs 14,700 tons, is the heaviest marine structure. The platform is capable of generating more than 11 megawatts and can provide accommodation for 120 people was on it.
Sardar Jangal gas field in the Caspian Sea and the border of Iran, which is located in Gilan province. The field, 24 km long and 16 km wide and is composed of several layers.

The field in 2001 and in 700 meters of water surface, was discovered 10 years later, in the wake of exploratory studies on semi-submersible platform Amir Kabir, an oil layer, at a depth of 728 meters in the hydrocarbon reservoir was discovered ...

Amir Kabir platform, capable of drilling in water to a depth of 1,000 meters and to a depth of 6600 meters from the sea floor also has the capability of drilling. Positioning drilling rig in place by eight 20-ton anchor and chains has been done. .
