place with historical importance, intersection (road)
This is the historic intersection of the Old National Road (US Highway 40) and the Dixie Bee Highway (US Highway 41), two of the most-traveled and important routes from the 1920s through the 1960s. At that time, US 41 was routed along 7th Street and US 40 followed Wabash Avenue. US 41 now traverses Terre Haute along 3rd Street, and US 40 follows Cherry Street westbound and Ohio Street eastbound.
