Held June 1-October 14, 1905, to promote Portland and to celebrate the centennial of the Lewis and Clark expedition. The north side of the fairgrounds bordered on and incorporated part of Guild's Lake (filled in between 1905 and the mid-1920s); the odd projection shown here was the tip of a peninsula which extended from the other side of the lake and a connecting bridge.
