  • South Spring Hotel in Awassa, Ethiopia is at the entrance of Awassa at the junction of the Addis/Awassa/Moyale highway and the road that goes through the center of Awassa. It’s 65 km. from Langano and 275 km. from Arba Minch. There are 30 rooms, including single and double bungalows all on ground level. Also, 4 family bungalows that sleep up to 4 people. All have ensuite bathrooms, TV/SAT & individual verandah. Family bungalows have a small living room. All have been renovated inside and out over the past year and new furniture being put in as I write. It has free guarded parking for 40, an indoor lobby bar that serves food, outdoor café/full service restaurant, as well as atmospheric traditional restaurant in a Sidama tukal with cultural furniture and decoration. The roasted lamb is fantastic! Large grounds with flowering plants and areas for outdoor seating and 2 resident Colobus monkeys. Set on 1 ¼ acres (5,000 square feet). As of July 12, 2012, prices are as follows: single – 350 ETB ($19 USD), double – 400 ETB ($22 USD), family room – 600 ETB ($34 USD), which includes breakfast and all taxes.
