church, interesting place
With a congregation of nearly ten thousand, this nondenominational revival church is one of the largest in the nation. People of all faiths, and even non-believers, flock here to hear the two hundred seventy-five members of the Grammy Award-winning gospel choir raise their voices to praise the Lord and sing of his glories at services on Sunday at noon and 4:00pm.
The church occupies the former Loew’s Metropolitan Theatre which was designed c. 1918 by Thomas W. Lamb. It was restored and renovated in 2002, having been partitioned into four screens in the 1970's.
