The most persistent is that the cemetery in the haunt of the ghost which guards the grave of her child.
In life, the grieving mother carved a nearby tree trunk into a seat since she spent so much time in the cemetery. In death, the ghost still sits sentinel where it did in life.
Sitting in the seat is supposed to bring bad luck/ drive you insane/ cause your death or the deaths of anyone you ever knew, depending on who is telling the story.
