Destination restaurant and tavern with large parking lot for people to tail-gate while waiting for tables to become available. Great food and atmosphere.

People travel long distances to experience Bonge’s Tavern (pronounced Bungee’s) in Perkinsville, a village on a county road between Cicero and Anderson. Constructed as a hardware store c.1837, the building has been a restaurant since 1934, most of that time under the ownership of Chuck Bonge. “Chef Tony” Huelster bought Bonge’s in 1999 and never considered changing the name. The menu features American cuisine, with special emphasis on game dishes and local produce. Bonge’s does not accept reservations, except for parties of 10 or more. Put together a big group (visitors must be 21 or older to dine at Bonge’s) or arrive early, especially in spring and summer. Call 765-734-1625 or visit www.bongestavern.com. Tailgating occurs in the parking lot as you wait for a table.
