Lat'ar (Armenian: Լաթար) or Dalaris (Armenian: Դալարիս) or Elmankaya is a formerly Armenian village in Armenian Highlands. After the Hamidian massacres (1895) most of the Armenian population was massacred by Kurdish armed units called "Hamidiye" and huge Kurdish quarter appeared at thw east of the village in place of emptied Armenian houses. In 1915-23 rest of Armenian population was massacred during the Armenian genocide. Today the village is called Elmakaya and populated by Kurds and several Turks in west. Armenian monastery of Lat'ara Surb Hreshtakapet at the north of the village, as well as Armenian cemetery around it, are now destroyed to foundation, no even trace remained. At southwest of the village still available remains of medieval Armenian fortress of Dalaris.
