The Los Angeles Landfill is a closed landfill that accepted municipal waste from the City of Albuquerque.

It is named Los Angeles Landfill because, at one time, Paseo Del Norte was Los Angeles Ave. When the land was subdivided before it was developed, the east-west roads were named after cities in California. The only changes were Los Angeles Ave became Paseo Del Norte and Hollywood Ave became Holly Ave. When this landfill closed, waste was sent to the South Broadway Landfill.

  • Why do they call it Los Angeles Landfill why not Albuquerque Landfill?
  • Because it is the landfill of the Angels. God has blessed us so.
