Moustiers Sainte MarieThis beautiful Provence village clings to the side of a limestone cliff. Moustiers Sainte Marie reached fame in the 17th and 18th centuries for its pottery (faïence). Today there is a pottery museum and there are still some operating pottery workshops. A crusade-era legend explains the star that hangs above the town, suspended by a 225m long chain between two cliffs. The town calls itself "The Star of Provence".
The town lies at the western end of the spectacular Verdon Gorge. Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moustiers-Sainte-Marie This article is protected. Category: pueblo
