Bankers Trust Annex Building

USA / New Jersey / West New York / East 48th Street, 33
 office building, skyscraper

548-foot, 43-story International-style office building completed in 1968. Designed by Emery Roth & Sons, it was built as the west tower of a 2-tower complex, joined by a lower 17th-story middle section, and completed seven years after the east tower at 280 Park Avenue. It is clad in a curtain wall of black steel and dark-tinted glass. The 2-story base is similar to that at the east building, with black steel piers dividing the north and south facades into five bays, each with a glass wall recessed behind the piers. There are also two east-facing bays to the north and south of the connecting section. The curtain wall on the upper floors consists of thin steel mullions separating the windows and spandrel panels between floors. There is a double-height mechanical floor at the 17th floor, with black metal vents, and an additional tall mechanical floor at the top.

On 49th Street, at the west end, there is a 6-window-wide recessed section connecting to the building to the west. It has a loading dock at the ground floor. Part of the ground floor is occupied by Fasano restaurant.
