  • Stationed there Dec of '76 n remained for 9 months til my transfer. Sorry to hear it closed. Lovely countryside. Always wanted to return n see how the area has grown. Too bad. But the good news is the land has been returned to the people n it was some beautiful country. Good luck to you Wonju folks!
  • I was stationed there for a year from 1986-1987. The beauty was lost on me as an ethnocentric 18 year old. I drank my share of beer while there. I enjoyed the friends I had made.

  • Indeed, not the husband but his wife use to laugh, crack jokes and hangout with us at the snack bar;-)! More had me playing this crazy game of kick the rock when we use to go to chow lol.
