Tombs of Ninamarca, commonly know as Chullpas or burial chambers, of the Pre-Inca Lupaca people. 17 stone and clay tower mausoleums known as Chullpas, built to house mummified Incan remains.
On the top of a mountain located at 3 750 m were more than 14 chullpas built between 1150 and 1250 from paja brava, a native grass, and earth. They stand in the heart of this Sacred Valley as mute witnesses to the Lupaca culture that sprang up north of Lake Titicaca.
