  Barbigha is a Block in Sheikhpura District. It has a Nagar Panchayet and classified as urban area.Roads toBiharsharif, Sheikhpura,Warsaliganj and Sarmera-Mokama pass through this town.Branches of State Bank of India and Punjab National Bank are here.It has RamRuchi College and a High School. The college is named after the first Chief Minister of Bihar,Dr. Shree Krishna Sinha and his wife.It is situated on Sheikhpura-Barbigha Road a kilomer away of Barbigha proper. Barbigha should be upgraded toa Sub-divion in Sheikhpura District by including nearby Asthawan and Sarmera Blocks of Nalanda District.This is a must for proper development of the area.
