Notes: This house is a rare surviving example of a late 19th century country home in an area now absorbed by southwest Denver suburban development. As the summer residence of James J. and Margaret Brown, it was the site of numerous society parties. James was a self-made mining engineer and inventor, while Margaret ("Molly") was a socialite and philanthropist notable for having survived the sinking of the Titanic. The historic house is the western structure on the property, while the east building is a modern structure built to house weddings and other events.
