Wenonah is a neighborhood in south Minneapolis. The name comes from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem "The Song of Hiawatha," based on a legend told by the Ojibwe people. This area was a Native American settlement before 1900 and developed in its modern form between 1920 and 1960.
