church, listed building / architectural heritage, lutheran church/kirk
Built by Antonio Petrini from Tuscany, completed and consecrated in 1699 originally as church of the Ursuline convent. In 1803 during the surge of secularization the convent was dis persed and the church became obsole te. Over the years the building served different purposes such as hospital and even as hay storage. In 1817 the Lutheran community purchased the building and it was consecrated anew. In 1945 an Allied airstrike destroyed the roof and nave of the building. By 1950 the church was rebuilt and consecrated a third time. www.kitzingen.info/fileadmin/files_kultur_tourismus/tou...
