Imatinib was developed in the late 1990s by biochemist Nicholas Lydon, a former researcher for Novartis, and oncologist Brian Druker of Oregon Health & Science University (OHSUCarlo Gambacorti-Passerini, a physician scientist and hematologist at University of Milano Bicocca, Italy,should also be included who led the clinical trials of Imatinib confirming its efficacy in CML. and for chemistry prize I predict Patrick Brown of Stanford University School of Medicine in California, who invented DNA microarray.
