Lowe's Home Improvement store, built after this image was taken.

Until this image is updated, it is showing the old Westvaco Newark site. Westvaco was built in 1960 and shutdown in about 2004? People from the Covington and Richmond Va. sites came up to start this folding carton division. They wanted a place halfway between Covington and New York.
They made small boxes like Anacin, Sweet & Low, Pepperidge farms, and Budget Gourmet (the first 'Ovenware' which is microwave and oven paperboard box).
The first commercial bar codes printed on folding cartons were made here in 1973.
'Hi-C'(in Dallas)drink carton printed bar codes a week prior to Westvaco, which was the start of bar codes on products. This site in Delaware was heavily involved with defining early bar code printing (IBM in Raleigh Durham set the standards).
