SECTION I: Establishment and objectives :
Article (1)
Establishment of the Association :
Established in United Arab Emirates as an association combining in its membership all the employees serving in UAE press under the name “ Journalists Association “ with headquarters based in the City of Dubai .
Article (2)
Objectives
The aims and objectives of the Association are:
1- To uphold and improve UAE journalism to be the true expressing front of UAE in particular and for the Arab World in general .
2- To uphold and improve professionalism and to promote high standards of journalistic education through launching training courses and enhancing close relations and contacts with relevant press leaderships .
3- To protect and strengthen the rights and freedoms of journalists To respect and defend freedom of information, media freedom and the independence of journalism particularly through research and monitoring of violations and taking action to defend journalists and their work- To improve the social and working conditions of all journalists, and to encourage and support member unions in collective bargaining;
4- To uphold and improve professionalism and to promote high standards of journalistic education.
5- Exclusive representation of the member and talking their behalf within the state .
6- To promote co-operation between member unions, and to support trade union development, by means of the organization of continental and regional groups; To encourage member unions to provide goodwill and assistance for members of other member unions who may be working in their territories;
7- Attempt to provide reasonable jobs in the field of journalism subject to the qualification of unemployed members and to protect the rights of all the member in the event of arbitrary dismissal , illness or disability by referring to the concerned authorities .
8- To uphold and improve professionalism and to promote high standards of journalistic education;
9- To establish and maintain close relations with relevant international, government and non-government organizations in pursuit of these objects;
10- To respect and defend freedom of information, media freedom and the independence of journalism particularly through research and monitoring of violations and taking action to defend journalists and their work
11- To establish and maintain close relations with relevant international, government and non-government organizations in pursuit of these objects;
12- To coordinate with both public and private journalism organizations in order to improve the profession .
