The fort of Domgermain is built between 1874 and 1878 in left bank of the Moselle on the West of the place) on the tray of Foug at a 398 meter height. It watches roads and railroads which lead to Paris, Verdun and Neufchâteau. He can also defend himself mutually with the forts of Écrouves and Blénod.
