This building was formerly the famous Downtown Howard Johnson's Hotel where, in January 7, 1973 Mark Essex begin a sniper rampage and was ultimately shot down in a hail of gunfire of the roof after setting fire to the hotel. The building is now a successful Holiday Inn and has a cool mural of a clarinet on the side.
