Now owned by American tower with 10's of thousands of towers nationwide, this tower, located in Algiers (westbank of the Mississippi River, New Orleans proper) at 3810 Behrman Hwy, is 1048 feet tall, making it the second tallest tower in the New Orleans area, topped only by the WWL tower in nearby Gretna (which, I want to say is 1049'!). According to FCC data, the tower (number 304873) is stated to have no backup generator, but photos just after Hurrican Katrina should it surrounded by flood waters and still operating.
