The town of Craik was incorporated on August 1, 1907. In recent years, efforts have been made to develop industry related to the principles of sustainability. The town's slogan is "Friendliest Place by a Dam Site", referring to the nearby dam across the Arm River. Population is 408 as of the 2006 census.
