This small village was founded in the late 1800's by Roman Catholics of German/Austrian/Polish ancestry who had previously lived in Wisconsin. The post office was established April 30, 1896. It was located in Section 10-141-63, Fried Township about ten miles northeast of Jamestown. The population never exceeded 100, and a 1983 count showed just 16 people living here. The post office was discontinued July 31, 1957 with mail to Jamestown.
