Residence designed c. 1936 in the Tudor Revival style by Butler & Corse on 53 acres of land for Florence Calkin Dickerman {financier}. Dickerman served as president of the New York Stock Exchange and was a partner of the Dominick & Dickerman stock brokerage firm. The estate was built on the second highest point on Long Island.

The estate was purchased in the 1950's by Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt, II who renamed it "Oakley Court". He sold the estate to Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney who deeded it to the Village of Mill Neck who sold the estate to Dorothy M. Fordyce. Fordyce gradually began selling off the property for development. In the 1970's, it was owned by Henry Luce, III.

It has since been used as a filming location for the movie "Hair" (1979).
