This ancient fort is built in samahni valley close to a place known as Baghsar.Baghsar, means a land of water and gardens. This beautiful place is 12 km in the east of Samahni town and a same distance away from Jandi Chontra. It Is famous for its lake and a huge granite built fort known as Baghsar fort. Baghsar used to be a focal point during and after the Moghul era due to its strategic locality and picturesque & calm atmosphere.Baghsar fort is built at a nearby mountain.

  • I just want to find out, why general public of valley SAMAHNI has been kept away from this historic landmark.Dont they have the right to visit the place which their ancestors and forefathers helped to built.Why do we have to seek permission(which is often denied) from the army officials to visit a location in our own valley.

  • WE WERE AGROUP OF 25 WHEN DENIED BY THE AUTHORITIES TO VISIT THE PLACE.
  • We visited the site last week we were a group of 30.we had no problem and the army was very helpful
