Estate home designed c. 1913 in the Tudor Revival style by Trowbridge & Ackerman on originally 44 acres of land for George du Pont Pratt, Sr {financier, capitalist} on the site of an earlier home by William B. Tubby. Pratt served as a partner of Charles Pratt & Co. He also served as a trustee of the American Museum of Natural History, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Pratt Institute, and the Boy Scouts of America.

Landscaping was commissioned from Olmsted from 1907-09, James Leal Greenleaf for gardens in 1913, and from Beatrix Jones Farrand for a summerhouse and tennis court in 1913. The estate is now adaptively reused as the retreat for the Russian delegation to the UN. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The former tennis compound is also reused separately as the YMCA of Glen Cove.
