This house belongs to Sri Kshitish and Debika Chakraborty. Late Kshitish Chakraborty is renowned for his 50 years of teaching experience including in Shahid Noni Bhattacharjee College, Jaigaon, BDM English H S School, Jaigaon, Teligati College, Mymensingh, Edward Institution Mymensingh etc. He is also known for his poetry skills with more than one thousand poems in both Bengali and English many of which remained yet unpublished with his sudden death on 21st January 2010. He is survived with his wife Debika Debi, and two sons Asim and Amit. Mrs. Debika Chakraborty is also a renowned teacher and educationist who has worked as a teacher in institutes such as Kishorimohan Multilateral Girls High School Sylhet, and then as a Research Assistant in the Entomology department of Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (www.bina.gov.bd), Mymensingh and has recently retired from Barobisha Balika Vidyalaya (HS)on 31st Dec 2008. Asim, himself an MA, B.Ed., is currently running a business (Maheswari Traders) at Barobisha and is married to Hira (who teaches at Kumargram Madansingh HS School) and they have a 2.5 yr old daughter Asmita. Amit is currently working as an Associate Professor of Physics at National Institute of Technology Durgapur and has been actively involved in cutting edge research in nanotechnology (www.nitdgp.ac.in/faculty_details.php?id=182). Amit is married to Amrita who is an MBA and working as a top rank manager of a Russian Coal company.

The house is located in an area called Subhashpally, just 1 km north of the NH 31C and 2 kms east of the river Rydak at Barobisha. Barobisha is a small township inside the Buxa tiger reserve with beautiful natural views around. The people are also very nice, Amit misses them all.
