formerly The SM City Annex
The original annex building was built in 1989 as an expansion of the City Center. It featured some 200 shops and restaurants, additional movie theaters and a bowling alley. In February 8, 2007, the original Annex was closed from the public for demolition as part of SM North EDSA's Redevelopment Plan.
The new annex officially opened in December 12, 2008 at almost double the size of the previous structure, having provisions for more than 400 shops and restaurants. The Annex now consists of a 92,830 square-meter, six-level building. The new structure was designed by Arquitectonica, the same architectural management firm that designed The Podium and SM Mall Of Asia. The tenants include Upscale shops, various restaurants, the biggest Cyberzone, Save More Market (later closed and moved to Cyber West), a games arcade and a bowling center, creating a cutting-edge mix of shopping and entertainment.
Its exteriors are green-colored, wavy-like claddings and glass windows. Its interiors are clean and modern, and centered around a curvilinear atrium, which stretches its length. Daylight is provided through a series of circular glass cones set into the ceiling, giving the interior a light, airy feeling.
