Formerly the Henry Ford-built B-24 Liberator factory, then Kaiser automotive assembly plant, and now the General Motors Powertrain plant (aka Hydramatic). The factory is divided into (2) sub-factories: a) Willow Run Transmission Operations and b) Ypsilanti Transmission Operations.

Following the closure of the plant in December 2010, the facility was deemed surplus to GM's needs and was subsequently demolished, with the Yankee Air Museum retaining a small portion of the original factory which was used in B-24 Liberator production for their future museum site.
