One of Rochester City's (Cobb's Hill) Reservoirs sits on the top of a 130' high hill.
Its park also features a lovely pond (Lake Riley) that is the remaining vestige of the Erie Canal, that was called Eastern Wide Water, south east of the city. The canal ran East-to-West in what is now the Route I-490 roadbed.

  • CHP may be Rochester's last and only hope for "chic" housing now that Park Ave. has gone to heck. Alas, this city is in desperate need of all manner of hope and renewal.
  • "Lake Riley" is not a pond, it is a reservoir that provides the City of Rochester with water (since they do not primarily use the County Water System
  • Lake Riley is not a reservoir, it is a pond. It used to be a widewaters on the Erie Canal, (I490 replaced the subway which replaced canal) There is a reservoir in the park, but it's on top of the hill, and is called "Cobb's Hill Reservoir"
