  • Thathankulam mosque has no history of its construction. It is more than two hundred years old. The roof, pillars and floor are of stones. The mosque has been encircled with funarals. The mosque was recently renovated. The main inhabitants of Thathankulam are belonging to Maraicayar. Every year the Meeladi Nabi (Birth day celebration of prophet Mohamed is celebrated in Thathankulam around February. The most of the people, who have been settled in Chennai, Veallore, Kanchipuram, Cuddalore, Tiruvannamalai, Trivandrum etc. assemble in Thathankulam to celebrate Meeladi Nabi.
