Groyne (jetty) almost buried by sand

Stone groyne (jetty) surrounded by sand deposited by westward-flowing longshore current and longshore drift. The current has deposited sand behind the groynes at the end of a curve in the shoreline to the west of this groyne. The sand has increased the width of the beach in the curve and has almost buried this groyne.
