MGM Higher Secondary School was started in 1922.Fr. P A Paulose was HM for 33 years.Prominent alumni include P. Govinda pilla(PG),D Babu Paul IAS and K Roy Paul IAS,Dr. PJ Geevargese world famous diabetologist,Mar Barnabas Metropolitan(USA)etc..List of HMs include famous politicallader C Narayana Pillai and M Varkey MLA.,The school came into being through the efforts of Marangattu Mathu Kathanar, then MLC for Kunnathunad Taluk. Upgraded as High School thanks to Kallarackal Kochukora Tharakan who was the next MLC for the taluk.The school celebrated diamond jubilee in 1982 with patriarch of Antioch as the Chief Guest.Upgraded as HSS when PPThankachan was MLA, but mainly through the influence of Roy Paul, old student.
