invisible, natural gas field
The Dalit gas prospect is located in the Michal license, 30 miles (48 kilometers) offshore Israel in approximately 4,500 feet (1,372 meters) of water. Noble Energy serves as the operator, holding a 36% interest; Isramco Negev 2 28.75%; Delek Drilling 15.63%; Avner Oil Exploration 15.63%; and Dor Gas Exploration holds the remaining 4% interest.
Discovered in March 2009 by the Atwood Hunter semisub, the Dalit well reached a depth of 12,000 feet (3,658 meters), and found more than 110 feet (36 meters) of net pay in a high-quality reservoir. In April, testing was performed over a 43-foot (13-meter) section of the reservoir, indicating the well can be completed to achieve a production rate of 200 MMcf/d (6 MMcm/d).
