  Tanjong Katong Complex is a multi storied shopping mall just across the road from Lion City Hotel. If you are staying at Lion City Hotel, then you can easily go to the complex. Take care to cross the road only when the pedestrian signal turns green. People always follow signals in Singapore, even if there is no vehicle at dead of night and that's why Singapore is so safe. The complex has number of standalone shops on each floor; shops sell grocery, clothes, jewellery, watches, shoes, plumbing goods etc. The Shop N Save supermarket is quite big and is located at the ground floor. The super market is very interesting with large number of quality items. Good deals are available here. Small house plants are also on sale, I found them very attractive.
